Chunn's Cove

Douglas Ellington, Sallie's uncle, was an acclaimed architect in the Asheville area who designed Chunn's Cove with his brother, Kenneth, who was his business partner. They worked with scrap materials from their civic projects.

Douglas was also responsible for the Asheville City Building, Asheville High, and the First Baptist Church, among other noteworthy projects.
